We are in our 11th year of trading, and as keen as ever to supply top quality goods at great prices in double quick time.

We have strong family links with both the Police and Military establishments and as such we understand the particular difficulties that can affect our customers.

Making A Purchase

Making a purchase could not be easier, just browse our store and add any item that you wish to buy in to the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on checkout and you will be asked for details that we need to be able to complete the order.

If you have placed an item in your shopping basket that you do not need you can make changes by clicking on View Basket, this can be found by going back to the home page. Make your changes and press update. This can only be done if you have not completed the order.

We accept all major credit/debit cards. We DO NOT accept American Express.

Our prices include VAT.
Vat is charged at the current standard rate where applicable.
20% As of Jan 2011.

You may send your credit card information via telephone or fax or over the internet. You can also pay by cheque or postal order made payable to Gladstones, we do not ship goods until payment has been received in full.









Shipping And Handling

3 very important points when ordering.

1 Make sure someone is available to sign for parcel
2 You remember to put the size required & Mobile contact number as this can be used for Automatic Carrier notifications
3 Deliveries & Despatches are Monday - Friday only, Weekend & Fridays orders are despatched on the Monday.

Order by 2pm Monday - Thursday for next day delivery.
Orders placed after 2pm on Thursday will be shipped out on Monday for Tuesday delivery.

As Gladstones use a 3rd party to complete the deliveries, we are unable to guarantee timed deliveries, we will do everything we can to ensure that deliveries are made in a timely fashion but we will not refund delivery charges if the parcel is delayed.

The Carriers require someone to be at the delivery address to sign for the parcel.
They WILL NOT leave it without a signature.

Our Carriers only make deliveries Monday to Friday.
There is no way to determine the time of its arrival, However if you supply a mobile number the Carrier should text you an ETA on day of delivery.

Most deliveries are before 5pm assuming that the Carrier has not encountered difficult traffic/weather conditions etc.

It is always best to have the parcel sent to an address that you know will be occupied. If you are not likely to be at home to receive your goods maybe have them delivered to a works address, friend or relative.

There is a facility on the ordering page where you can choose an alternative address for delivery of the parcel.

When your order is processed we will send you despatch information, this usually has an ETA


Deliveries to Jersey & Overseas : We do not delete VAT on orders that are being exported. We charge vat at the standard rate on all goods where applicable.



Delivery Charges Uk Mainland.

Orders up to £10.00 cost £3.50
Orders over £10.00 and up to £30.00 cost £4.50
Orders over £30.00 cost £6.99


Northern Ireland.

Orders upto £10.00 cost £4.00.
Orders over £10.00 and upto £30.00 cost £8.50.
Orders over £30 cost £16.99.




Southern Ireland, Isle of Wight, Isle of Man, Jersey & Guernsey:-

Orders upto £10.00 cost £4.00
Orders over £10 and upto £40 cost £10.00
Orders over £30 cost £18.00

Although we endeavour to get all deliveries to you on time there are occasions where this just does not happen, there is no binding contract between us and you are not entitled to a refund on carriage if it does no get to you on time.

Some areas such as the Highlands/ Isle of Wight & Ireland can take longer to arrive, these areas are usually 2-3 day service.

We reserve the right to use which ever delivery service we deem appropriate.


Please note that we will always try to get your order despatched as quickly as possible, if there is likely to be a delay we will try to advise you accordingly.




Delivery Attempts

Deliveries need to be signed for.
If the first delivery attempt is unsuccessful the carrier should leave you a card and you will need to contact your local depot in order to rearrange a second attempt. You will need to contact them immediately. The carrier will only hold the parcel for 5 days after this time the parcel will returned to us, this is not a free service and cost is not met by Gladstones.

If you decide to change the delivery address after we have dispatched your goods there will be a charge to do so as the carriers regard this as a separate job.








Back Orders

If your item is not in stock, we will back order the item for you, ie keep the order until stock is available. You will always be emailed in this event with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
Credit Card Security

This is a secure site- Additionally we do not release any information to third parties.

When the order is placed on our web site, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.



Guarantee

Buy with confidence. We offer a full refund on items that are not suitable to the customer's requirements. All goods returned must be in their original packaging and in perfect condition.

There is a 7 day time limit on these returns.

Faulty Returns :

We will guarantee any product which develops a genuine fault within a period of six months from order date.
(other than due to normal wear and tear, failure to follow instructions or misuse and damage)

We will cover the return postage charges for any item which develops a fault within six months of date of purchase providing it is returned via Royal Mail 1st class recorded service and you supply the postage receipt, we do not refund costs for courier or special delivery postage.
Please note that we cannot refund postage costs without a valid postage receipt, so you will need to put your receipt from the Post Office in with the returned goods.



We reserve the right to refuse to issue a refund/replacement and to recover the cost of the return delivery from you in the event that the product is found to have suffered damage after delivery or has been misused or used other than in accordance with the instructions or if the problem is due to normal wear and tear, failure to care for a product or items used inappropriately will not be considered for replacement.

Nothing in this section or elsewhere in our Terms and Conditions or in our returns policy affects your statutory legal rights.

All returns MUST be accompanied with a copy of your purchase receipt or proof of purchase. ie Bank statement.
We can not accept returns without proof of purchase.

Zipper Care.

The boot zippers should be operated with care to keep them trouble-free. The zipper has a 103 lb breaking strain, which is achieved by having a higher number of teeth per inch.
This also provides the necessary flexibility in a zip of this length.
However care must be taken when operating this zipper to - Not get gussets caught in the zipper and Should the gusset get caught, you MUST reverse the zipper direction to release the gusset, under NO circumstances try to force the zipper.
Forcing the zipper could result in breaking the zip-pull tab or the zipper itself.
This will not occur under normal operation and will therefore be considered "abuse" and negate any guarantee.
In normal use the zippers do not break.
If you happen to break a zip-pull tab, contact our customer service department for a replacement.

Returns Policy

We hope that you are happy with your purchase. If for whatever reason you need to return any items please take the following steps.

There is a 7 day limit on returns.

1. Include a note indicating whether a refund, exchange or replacement is required, along with a copy of your receipt.

Correctly despatched items being returned for a refund are subject to a 5% restocking and admin fee, this is to cover our costs of processing the transaction and subsequent refund.

2. If you are returning your order to exchange for a different size you will need to include a £6.99 cheque/cash/postal order for the return carriage of your goods. Cheque payable to : Gladstoneboots Ltd


3. All returns should be sent back via Royal Mail to following address .
Use either Royal Mail or Parcel Force only.

4. Goods must be returned in PERFECT condition, ensure that the goods are packaged correctly and that nothing is stuck to the box.

Failure to look after and protect goods & packaging could result in a reboxing charge or a refusal to accept the return, so in short : Make sure goods are sent back to us in a similar fashion to how you received it - Do NOT write on the box - or stick tape to the box - Do use the wrappings inside a shoe box to wrap the shoes - Put the returned box into a bag before posting.



We will not be held liable for the loss or damage of any returned items/parcels, so ensure that you have put our address on clearly and correctly - your return address should also be on the back of the parcel - ensure you apply the correct postage and we advise to record/insure the parcel against loss or damage.

The parcel is your property/responsibility until it arrives with us, if the parcel is lost in transit we will not be held responsible.

If your original order had the benefit of FREE delivery ( ie as a special promotion) and you subsequently return the goods for a refund - the refund will be less the standard shipping charge for the classification of the item ordered.

If you wish to change the style or size of the item we will charge delivery to get the item sent to you and again this will be at the standard rate for that item.

If you purchase a product that has a promotional voucher or a promotional item included in the sale and you subsequently decide to return that purchase for a refund or exchange for another item, then you must also return the Promotional Item or Voucher as it formed part of your initial purchase.

Gift Vouchers must be used within 12 months from issue date.

We recommend that you take out adequate parcel insurance to cover against consequential loss by the Post Office. This cost is not met by Gladstones.
Proof of postage is not adequate - You need to insure the returned item with the Postal Service - The item is YOUR responsibility until we receive it.
